I just got my Inc and was going through the Gmail settings and saw a setting for "sync 4 days" and was wondering what that meant? Does it only keep 4 days of mail on my phone?

Yes, I think that means it only syncs the last 4 days of emails. It's a resource management thing...

You're not limited to keeping them older than 4 days. That's just what it will pull from the server.

In your inbox you will see any new, unread mail.
In you "All Mail" folder and "Sent Mail" folder you will see 4 days (or whatever you set it to) worth.

So lets say I want to see all my emails, I would just set that synch to forever or whatever the max choice is?

And then it takes up more storage space on my phone right?

You can set a greater number of days overall, to apply to all folders (Settings-->Duration) or you can choose "Sync All" within each folder under settings.

Yes, it would chew up battery and storage to sync a greater number.

If I choose to only keep the last 4 days of messages, will it still keep all the emails when I check my mail on my laptop? I assume it would...
