Help What exactly can I use the front cam for?

Apart from taking static shots of my mug, what exactly can I use the front facing camera for? Is there an app that will allow me to talk to Apple Facetime users?
I noticed that there's a 'video call' button on each contact but what does the contactee phone need to be equipped with?

For Skype video calls, someday

For Nimbuzz and Tango video calls, right now

Not FaceTime, but you can make video calls over a UMTS network to other users. People you are calling to do not usually need to have any special software installed, just a 3G enabled phone with video calling capability would suffice on most networks.
