What do you mean "sd card transferred old phone to new without your permission"? The only thing I can think is that you are saying that somebody else moved your sd card from one phone to the other, but you make it sound like something more than that.

Can you explain in more detail exactly what happened? In particular, since the Sonata 3 has very little storage but runs Android 6, did you (or whoever) decide to "adopt" the card in the new phone, i.e. use it to extend the phone's storage? That would make it unusable to any other phone (unless you reformatted it, destroying the data on it in the process).

The guy at the counter put the old SD card in the new phone without asking. I don't know why he would do that. I didn't find out until later.

You should just register an account so we can follow the thread better. At least you could search for the thread you started.

I've found the original and merged the threads, but I agree it would be much easier if you registered an account.

Just putting a card in a different phone doesn't in itself do anything to the card. So there must have been something else done in the process. I've proposed one guess above: you could probably work out whether that is right by looking at the Storage settings in the new phone. Otherwise, does the new phone still recognise the card? Does the new phone work properly without the card? Can other devices read the card (apart from the two phones mentioned so far)? What exactly does the new phone say about the card? Information is always the key to working these things out, and we only know what you tell us.
