    Hi everyone,

I've been looking around this forum and I can see that many people want to upgrade to Gingerbread but is a bit unsure about the problems that can occur.

I've upgraded my Galaxy Mini to Android 2.3.4 yesterday and thought that I would share my expreience.
What you need to know is that I'm located i Sweden so did the "Euro" samfirmware upgrade.

The upgrade went perfectly except that I had Kies up and running when connecting my phone which made the program Odin not able to connect to my phone since Kies was trying to access it. So when you do this update make sure Kies is closed.
Nothing bad happend, just restarted the phone and everything was fine.

The problems I've been having with the phone since the update is that I am unable to play certain games. For exampel Angry Birds. It get stuck at the loading screen and nothing happens and i have to force a shutdown of the program. This seems to happen only with games and not other apps. Apps like youtube, facebook, sport updated, weather and so on is no problem.
I also, as I read another one on this forum have had problems with, is the connection to my router. Since the upgrade i can connect to the router and access internet but any other device connected to my network loses it's connection. This is extremely annoying but hopefully I will soon find a solution to this problem.
And of course as everyone else I got the keyboard in russian and had to download another one from Android Market.

The good thing is that my battery life has had a radical lift. I have not timed it yet but I can say that it's a big difference. I probably got double battery life now than before the upgrade.
The phone is generally much faster and doesn't hack at all. Also the screen is much better now. The screen does not look so cheap anymore and gives you a better feeling when you look at it.

To sum it up i would say this is a very nice experience. If you can live without Angry Birds and use you mobile network you should really upgrade you Samsung Galaxy Mini. Nothing but good has come out of this. Hopefully Samsung will make this official soon so the router and game problem will disappear.

    Hope you enjoyed the reading

Angry Birds RIO is working fine on mine. I am using gingerbread 2.3.4 with Cyanogen MOD. And i have, absolutely no problem, except that, it can't be overclocked and the graphics is a bit unfinished here and there. But its expected to be fixed by the next release.

    Thanks for the kind words.

To answer Nahid, it looks and feel like the screen has got a higher resolution. This is of course not possible but it feels and looks like it. I guess it's the enhanced performance that gives me this feeling like everything feels and looks smoother. This is though only my personal opinion and maybe you won't see any difference at all :)

And I actually got Angry Birds working again. Unfortunately it wasn't me who fixed it so i can't brag about it :D
After I hadtried to start Angry Birds like 20 times it actually loaded properly and i could play the game.
Before the upgrade I could feel that the game was lagging but now I don't see any of that.
