I am wondering what a ROM is? I know it has something to do with rooting....
I know what it stands for... I want to know what it does to a rooted phone.
They're basically Android builds that are customised by different developers that replaces your network carrier ROM to include additional features and performance boosts. Check out cyanogenmod.com
It's basically something that isn't changed. Hence Read only memory. It's used for the vital functions of your phone...Sort of like a locked down system 32 on your computer.
