What is known about Android 3.0?

What's great is my captivate fits that hardware requirement, so I'm really hoping to get Gingerbread.

My Evo fits the bill as well. I'm worried though that when 3.0 does come out, the Evo won't see an upgrade for quite a while for there will be phones out with bigger and better specs that will require OEM's primary attention. So, it may be 4 or 5 months after Gingerbread is out before the Evo may see an update. And with the Evo "just meeting" the minimum requirement spec, I wonder if its performance will take a hit even if its updated.

Good thing I'm due for an upgrade in January. I bought my EVO at retail.

WOW! I had to jump through hoops to get the subsidized price for my Evo. But, i wanted one so bad, I would have eventually paid the full price had I not been able to get it subsidized at the time I did.
hey ava.. what do you mean your due for an upgrade and that you boguht your phone at a retailer????
Google stated that the Nexus 1 is the measuring stick for Gingerbread. Phones with lesser specs probably wont handle it smoothly
