Hi, I have just bought an Android phone and wonder if anyone can give me some guidance on what they think is the best Running App (free if possible). Thanks.

I personally have found RunKeeper to keep much more accurate mileage on my Eris than Cardio Trainer did. Cardio Trainer was and still shows 3/4 mile longer on a 4 mile run than Runkeeper, Yahoo Maps, and Google maps. My wife has seen the same results on hers too, on many different runs.

RunKeeper is the best one for us as of now..

run.gps isn't free, but it seems to have more features than some of the apps I have tried. I already had a license from my windows mobile phone, so that made the decision easy. They have a free trial (2 weeks I think)

    iMapMyRun

Similar to Runkeeper but found the online interface more preferable.

Thanks for the comments. I have downloaded Cardio Trainer, Runkeeper and MapmyRun so will try them out. Tried Mapmyrun today and it seems good. Like the Voice activation.

Hey Nick, I was just curious how the running was coming and which app you ended up sticking with.

I used to use Nike+ when I had my iPhone, I loved getting an album and having the motivation and mileage during my runs.

I downloaded Nike Boom but haven't tried it yet.

Can someone tell me their impressions of Nike Boom or if there is something better that is similar to Nike+ using GPS and motivation?

I have finally lost enough weight to start running again (65 pounds so far), I want to start running so I can meet my weight loss goal without getting off track during the holidays (65 more pounds)
