I prefer the stock Android browser myself.

I'd suggest any browser with a built in spell check...
    :p
I like the stock browser but I'm experimenting with Opera right now, at first impression I'm not too keen, it's fast but feels half finished and a lot of pages don't seem to load properly.
I've heard mixed but mainly positive things about Dolphin and will be trying that after a week or so on Opera.

    Likewise.

Opera is the fastest but I think it is not without its problems.

I also stick with the stock Android browser. Does the trick. I can't quite say why, but I've tried Dolphin HD, xScope and Opera in the past, and didn't really like any of them. They seemed a bit too much, too busy, if that makes any sense.

    +1 for stock browser.

Dolphin feels like it's trying too hard to provide all the functionality of a desktop browser in such a tiny space and so feels cluttered and over-engineered to me. Keep it simples with the stock option!

I've tried almost all the browsers available on the market and i always go back to the stock browser,it just does what i need it to do and does it effortlessly.

Dolphin HD no doubt, was a big Opera Mini fan on my Blackberries and Android 1.5 phones but Dolphin HD blows it out of the water.

Dolphin HD for me, i find it works better than the standard browser as well as putting up the option to delete history & cookies on exit.

Hmmm... Stock browser misses out on tabbed browsing & currently crashes when looking at BBC sport pages with flash content! Dolphin HD seems slower & less intuitive. I use both, but can't say I'm completely satisfied with either...

Stock browser has "windows" instead. Just as useful.

I prefer the stock browser too.

Dolphin HD was quite good but with all the add-ons I just couldn't justify all the extra space it took up on my phone so I uninstalled it.

I was happy with the stock browser all along and needed the space for other apps, but since upgrading to Froyo I've switched to Dolphin HD since it can be moved to SD.

I'm a loyal Opera-for-desktop user but Opera Mini doesn't do it for me anymore. Oh and I tried out the Fennec alpha, but it doesn't seem to work properly at all yet.

LOL - so it's a toss up between the stock browser and Dolphin. As I'm in the same boat, I'm just giving Dolphin a try. I think the OP is going to have to do the same!

stock for me. out of the others I really like xScope, but not as much as the stock one.

While we're on the subject, I just want to as something that may seem stoopid.

right, when I open (for example) this forum and read a thread, all the writing fits perfectly in the screen so I can read it. What do I call this? And also, does this not happen on the iphone? When I see friends open a site, it's always in 'overview'.

I think it's called text reflow.

There is a tick-box in the browser settings to open pages in overview if you want to. Personally I think it's better not to do that.

I'm using Dolphin but do find it slow and laggy, but I just tried an annoying site (IGN.com) and it worked great in the stock browser (I guess the flash update helps there) plus if you're rooted you get no ads.

Stock just seems faster and smoother to me at the moment so I'm going back there.

I definitely agree it better not to do that. I hate the overview thing, but got the impression iphones had no choice other than overview.

edit: oh, text reflow. that's what I was thinking of. thanks
