I been meaning to ask this but just keep forgetting. What is the eyeball on the nav bar at the top, usually in the center?

It is the "Smart Stay" keeps the screen on when you are looking at it. Settings>Display>Smart Screen.

It's a subtle reminder that you have the choice to read the manual or onboard help files. Suddenly you'll find you are enjoying your phone far more than before you learned how to use it's features :)
