I have been using, Evo Stock, Vlingo, Swype, swiftKey graffiti (just like the on the palm) and now SlideIt. I liked Swype a lot but it was a pain entering logins (especially passwords). That's why I switch to graffiti when I am entering passwords. Yesterday I actually paid $8.95 and got SlideIt and I love it so far (except for the fact that it is not free like Swype). It works like Swype but also has voice entry and (with my fingers at least) has a better feel and fewer errors than Swype. But I won't uninstall Swype just in case.

Did you figure out any way to make it work on a non rooted evo with 2.2?

Hmmm I just noticed that when I unzip the file for a quick second it says apk, then it changes. I wonder if this is a mac issue?

Batter Keyboard with the ice theme.

I might try shape writer or slide it though, I've tried one of them before on one of my other phones and liked it.

SlideIT is absolutely the best. Similar to swype but way better.

I am using the Droid X keyboard and can't seem to ever leave it. Swype is my 2nd choice.

That looks great. A lot like WP7's which I find nice.

Thanks GG, I never would have even bothered to download a free demo without a 'swype' type option.

Once the 24 hr trial expires this will surely be the first app I purchase! This combined with Handcent is AMAZING!

Here is what I did. Once you have the unzipped files on your storage card.

Go to the System Folder, then the App folder and then choose the LatinIME file. Choose Open App Manager and install it.

I just downloaded swype and ultra yesterday, and after fooling around with both, my vote goes to ultra. So much more options, customizable, and love that I can switch between swype technology and regular touch input without exiting the program.

    very cool.
