    The moment didnt exist at the time :D

    But even if it had, i wouldve gone for the hero.

    * Dont need a physical keyboard (& associated bulk)
    * SenseUI
    * Dont like samsung's hardware design. Every single one of their phones looks the same: a bland nondescript roundish blob.
    * You think HTC are slow and uninformative w.r.t. firmware updates? Not compared with samsung they arent.

    SenseUI restricted my search the the Hero and the Tattoo. The specs of the Hero over the Tattoo made me choose the Hero.

    The fact that my last smartphone was a Samdung (As my girlfriend calls it), granted it was windows, but the UI was terrible!!

    My previous (non-smart)phone was a Samdung and I never liked it much so wouldn't have gone for one of their phones again.

    I chose the Hero over ANY other phone (including the Legend and Desire) purely on looks.

    I wouldn't have bought it if it hadn't had Android though.

    Shallow, me ??

    hero = no keyboard = perfect
    previous phone was touch pro and the keyboard made it feel like you were walking around with a sandwich in in your pocket all day..

    I also had no need for the physical keyboard and the customization available on the Hero sold me. Honestly I was going to go with the Moment because it was cheaper but I missed the sale ... Once they were the same price it was no contest! I love my Hero :)
