I love Defrost 6.1 (not a) but I'm now loving GingerVillain (also by Richard trip).

Its not missing much from defrost, but its missing a little.

However I find the battery life good (others have reported problems though.)

The greatest thing about it was I was able to flash from defrost with no wipe, so if you try it, try that first.

Of course if you do have issues, you will have to wipe before anyone will take your issue seriously.

Go between MIUI and stock. Running stock at the moment as it's my own build and have kinda fallen in love with Sense again - don't remember it being as quick as it is :)

    You should name it.

If I ever created a rom, it would be "Dandroid". Unfortunately this is far too close to the similarly named "Leedroid" but I've already got the custom splash and boot animation :(

I've no idea what I'd call it!! Even if I did I still wouldn't change the name in 'syftware information' - I like thing to look stock ;)

Oxygen RC7 because I still have 71% battery left after nearly 20 hours.
I have the battery usage logs to prove it!

It all depends on usage. You may get that on other roms too. Not that I am trying to persuade you to change or anything.

This is maybe as good a place to ask as any, does your avatar say IDANDROID on purpose? :)

Anyway I'm back to Leedroid 2.3d after giving Oxygen and Gingervillain a go. I might try them again (I did like how lean Oxygen was) in the next week or so, but Leedroid has done really well by me.

I prefer CM. It is pretty clean yet and has its own little boost ups like built in updater. It is fairly stable unless someone suggest something better?

Indeed it does and i've been using it.

I have tried T-mobile rom, HTC stock Rom, cyanogenmod, leedroid and oxygen and have found oxygen latest edition with latest radio gives me the BEST performance and batterylife.

I use Push Email to my exchange server from 7am to 10pm about 100 emails daily. I use the internet for sky news and facebook regular, 3g HSDPA is always on. about 40 texts a day and occassional satnav(which usually takes about 20% for a 60-90 mins outting.

Like SUroot my preference is DeFroST or GingerVillain. Technically DF is a little more refined, but GV has come far enough that it doesn't feel worth flipping back any more.

Why? I like AOSP more than Sense, and RichardTrip's ROMs include a nice selection of little extras (CyanogenMod and others) without being cluttered. Plus stability is good - I like fiddling and tweaking, but it has to work reliably.

Well if you feel experimental, I see references in the coutss kernel thread to an 825 mV version (though it's not linked from the first post)

If 875 works well for you, you could try it. I've not tried this myself - this is just something I've spotted in passing, and in no way a personal recommendation...

Edit: Alternatively, EViollet has been building some battery-optimised kernels, in 2.2 and 23 flavours. You could give one of those a spin.

Ive just installed Ginger Villain 0.9 very similar to Defrost. I suppose it is the same dev.
Had a problem with mobile internet so tried re-install and that sorted it.
Liking GV 0.9 atm but just love testing and changing roms.
Not brave enough to change radios yet.
    Wonder what to test next???

First ROM was LeeDroid 2.2f, and updated at every release to 2.3d. I chose it because it's based on a Sense ROM and could be flashed over my old Orange 2.2 FroYo update without needing any complicated stuff (at the time) like radios.

I really like 2.3d but I'm starting to look at Gingerbread ROM's. I like the idea behind AOSP but need to read about the pitfalls involved with changing to a non-Sense OS.

    EDIT: "Nonsense" hee hee! ;)

First ROM was Defrost 1.6 or 1.8(can't remember :p). I then moved back to Sense with the Sense Froyo leak(I think it was AdamG's version). After that, I jumped about a lot through Vanilla, Sense and MIUI. Gave up Sense a good while back. Defrost was my favorite ROM, but I'm now using Oxygen because Gingerbread tastes good.

My first rom was Leedroid but I was tempted to try some of the DHD roms, my favourite so far has been Baadnewz DHD, I like(d) the skin options and the (now no longer functioning for me) phone finder. I have that as my Nandroid back up, but I'm currently trying out a 0.6 Z rom (bigger fonts ...yaaaay).

I've also tried one of the MIUI roms but it wasn't really to my liking, also just removed Gingervillain 0.9 but I found that I was making it look like a HTC Sense rom .... so I thought I may as well go back to what I seem to like the most.

Liking GingerVillain but its so annoying the 1-3 second where people cant hear you at the beginning of the call.
Im definitely swapping rom til this is sorted.

Baadnewz 1.8f is by far the best Rom I have put in my desire.
