    Hi!
does anyone have a weather widget they can recommend that is pretty accurate? Actually it should be perfectly accurate (why settle for less?).

    Thanks!

I grew tired of weather widgets and the space that they take up on screen, so I just use Weatherbug Elite to put the current temp in the notification bar (so I can just power on the phone without unlocking the lock screen to see the current temp); it also shows more weather details in the notification pulldown.

However, if I was going to put a weather widget on, I love the minimal Simi Clock Widget, which can do weather as well in a very small and rather attractive way; that's what I used once, and would again.

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.th.android.widget.gTabsimiClock&hl=en

But, truly, there are a million of them. Many people love the Sense-ish Beautiful Widgets, and it's hard to argue with them - they are also very nice, if that's what you like.

Are any of the ones you mentioned accurate though? (besides Simi, see below)

So far any of the ones i tried (Simi was accurate but i didn't like the look of the widget at all), were not accurate that looked good. Always off by 5 - 10 degrees, saying it was sunny when it was raining, or raining when it was sunny.

The weatherbug one you mention sounds good because it's in the bar area. Is it good?

Weatherbug is fine. Temperature accuracy is going to depend on how often you have the app update the temp. WB is good in that if you really want to know you can tap the notification and it brings you to the app, which will then refresh.

I really like WeatherBug. Usually very accurate for me. There are also several widget sizes to choose from.

It is a couple bucks for WeatherBug Elite, which is what I use. I really like the Elite widget which is the one I keep on my lockscreen.

I love it, I have bought it on Android and my iPad (I think it was $5 on the iPad). It is worth it just for the better widget IMO, plus you get no ads which is always good

Im just doing an accuracy test on the free one now. If it's good (it's different by 2 degrees compared to Weather.com), then i'll pay for the ad free version.

    thanks!

I use the Beautiful Widgets 1x1 on my home screen. I have it set to sync every hour based on my coarse location. It displays today's high and low, the current temp., and an image for the conditions (cloudy, snow, rain, sun, etc.) and also has a status bar temp. option.

BW is about 15 degrees off for me (i gave it 1 star a while back).

So far WeatherBug is the winner! Yes it is off by exactly 2 degrees but never more than that and the rain/sun is always right.

    thanks!!!!

I use also BW and there is no problem with that. Usually it's 1 or 2 degrees off.

With Beautiful, you pick your weather provider. Accuweather (Weather Channel) or Google Weather. Also, the accuracy depends upon sync frequency and the location you have selected.

ah well Accuweather is the closest to weatherchannel so maybe I had google weather picked when i tried BW. For now i love the temp in the notification bar, but i change themes VERY often so i'm sure i'll want a desktop pretty one eventually. I'll give it another shot!

What I've noticed with WB is that on the widget when u touch the little gear to bring up the refresh option, and have changed locations (driving to a different zipcode) when it refreshes it does not change to the new area. You actually have to open the app for it to work. It says that it needs an add on that can't be found on the market.

I had all the follow me options turned on except for the background one that needs that add on. This never used to be the case. I had to reinstall everything after my phone crashed and now the newest WB is the issue.

We use elecont, which was a free app of the day.

    Nice looking. Accurate. Useful.
