Here are a few that I like:

Google Sky (I don't use it every day, but it's cool to show off.)
    Handcent SMS
    Twitdroid
    Facebook
    Google Listen (Podcast client)

For facebook, I prefer Bloo... but I still have the offical FB app installed for the widget too. If Bloo added a widget like the official app, I'd be really happy.

The Facebook app has a widget?!

LOL yes... at least I'm pretty sure that's where my FB status widget came from... when I go to add widgets, it's called "Facebook". It's a 4x2 widget with an area to update your status and scroll through your friends' statuses, one by one. I really enjoy it for its functionality and simplicity.

OMG I found it...that's so cool! Never even saw the add widgets thing before. Will it kill the battery? I removed the weather channel widget cuz it sucked my battery dry! ;) I also saw the analog clock, is there a digital clock somewhere or an app that will give me a big digital clock?

How do you make free calls using G/V? Do you have a "favs" plan that you use the GV number for?

CalWidget. It's a widget that can be configured to almost every column and row combo to show your upcoming appointments. It's free and has more layout options than PureCal which is actually a paid app. I'm sorry I bought Pure Cal now. On my home screen I have a 3x3 layout for CalWidget with the Sportstap widget up top and room for three icons down the right side. Works well.
