Thanks for testing that. Definitely going for H8 now!
I just updated my phone form original firmware to this via NPS. Can't confirm the battery life yet, but it is defianetly much smoother to use (yeah, it was smooth before, but this takes it even further).
One thing though, I cant find eBuddy from market, what about u guys? It was better than nimbuzz so would like to have it back.
Does anyone have the apk for it?
I got ebuddy from getjar.com since it did not appear in the market.
have the same 'problem' with the market
HTC Hero users in the UK also have the same problem with missing apps, so it's an Android problem: Apps missing in HTC Hero Market?.... - Android Market Help
Also, a Google employee says that protected apps are blocked from unlocked phones: app no longer visible in Market search? - Android Market Help
hmm, unlocked phones. unlocked on native network, rooted on nonnative network, rooted on native network, there are many variants...
In this case, it's the ro.fingerprint thing. It has been tested by the people playing around with the htc dream.
i have no idea what you are on about
why would certain carriers restrict things like ebuddy. seems ******** to me
ok guys i updated my phone over odin to IH8 and i don't think i see any progress. when i went to sleep which was 9 hours ago my battery was on 64% and now is on 25%. and since last unplugged my phone was running 14h.39'(98%), and screen was on for 1h and 12'(8%). where did that 2% went from phone running and is it possible that only one hour of usage spent battery so quick. 9 hours of "standby" droped battery for 40 %. it's crazy, and i turned of whatever i could. do you have the same problem
think you might have other issues going on there.
i flashed mine yesterday. used it without a usb connection for about an hour messing about and browsing using wifi (found a bug on my phone that doesnt like wifi channel 8 so it keeps dropping out. it did this before the h8 update though)
i was also playing music through the speaker testing out some audio apps.
battery life only went down about 5%
ive left it over night with screen off and wifi/auto sync off and came back this morning to find i still have 75% battery left
so what do you think my issue is? when you say you turned off screen that's only pressing the lock button?
You need to condition your battery. Keep charging at every oppportunity rather than letting the battery die. After a few days the battery should be fine.
yeah just locked it and went to bed
you had the same problem when you bought the phone? if so than i shouldn't worry
Did you do a default to factory settings afterwards?
you mean after i update phone with IH8? i did not?does it matter?
Well if you've not seen the improvement that everyone else has, and you don't mind losing all your data and setting it up again, I'd give it a go.
mine was a little laggy till i factory reset. now its smooth
This is the problem. Something was keeping your device's CPU awake. What apps do you have installed?
dunno if this is allowed but i found ebuddy for android here
GetJar: Free Java, Symbian, Windows Mobile, BlackBerry, Palm and Flash Lite mobile games and applications
I installed game Trap, advanced task killer, flashlight, ak notepad, document to go, heat lite, switcher and ringroid. Beforr I go to sleep I shut down all with task killer
But maybe it's because my phone came from o2? Don't know, but really like the new firmware. The whole touchscreen is more responsive
does anyone else have a problem not being able to add an APN (for mms/gprs)? I add it, type in everything and click save, but then it returns me back to the screen where you enter APN settings, and when I go into APNs, the list is empty (my added APN is not there)...
I did a factory reset, but it did not help.
EDIT: I don't know why, but the phone reset and after that I could add the APN... No idea what happened.
I had this problem when I did the H7 upgrade and it turned out that the upgrade hadn't actually been done successfully. You may need to upgrade again.
I am sure that a lot of things have been fixed in the H8 version, however, I have experienced that when I am talking to someone on the phone they have a hard time hearing me.
I am not sure if it is the connection, which is worse now or if it is the microphone that is switching on/off at times.
Have anyone else experienced the same problem or is it just my phone, which is going crazy at times?? : )
