    As far as replacement for physical tools go...

    Tiny Flashlight
    SPL Meter Free - Not perfect, but a great reference point when properly calibrated.

    SPL Meter Free - good one! I hadn't seen that before because it's not in the Android Market. I was able to find the .apk and install/run with no problems. New tool in the toolbox!

    It's in the market for me :thinking:

    Just remember... it's useless without calibrating it first!!!

    Oh I see it now. If you hadn't said something I would have never noticed. I'm on my laptop with Firefox when I do the search for "SPL Meter Free" on the AppBrain site. The first item in the results list (which is for SPL Meter Free) is only linked text with no graphics. The rest of the results are formatted with the icon, test, stars, price and description. But when I click on SPL's link, the graphics render like they should. Weird. Probably a FF bug - but I will pay better attention to the results now. :)
