the 3.2 update was for wifi only models and is only available in certain countries. I'm still waiting for 3.2 to be released in UK so I can get it and maybe the bugs I'm experiencing will be fixed.

That's not accurate. I have the P7500 3G model on Rogers here in Canada and I received the 3.2 update back in November if I recall correctly.

The updates roll out based on region and serial, and whether or not your carrier adds anything to the package. For my carrier, they customize the update to include some of their apps and bookmarks. Other than that, it's fairly generic, but I had to wait a few extra weeks to get the update after it was released by Google.

Just saw that so its a case of just waiting and hoping it comes out here in the UK soon. I think my Tab might be network unlocked as when I bought it ages ago it was supposed to be on vodaphone but when I stuck my 3 sim in it it works and I can send and receive text and use the internet. Is there anyway of testing it

Ah so the update for the 3G version must have come out just after or at the same time as the wifi model I just only seen news about the 3.2 update for the wifi model not seen the 3G update so just assumed it hadn't been released for that model yet hehe.

I'm not sure 10.1's are network locked not heard of any being locked to a single network but then I haven't really spent much time looking into this. You say your 3 sim worked in it and your vodafone sim also works in it I would say it's not network locked since you have already tried 2 different network sims.

Just downloading my new 3.2 update now.

    UK Vodafone contract P7500 wifi/3G 16GB

Contract started less than 1mth ago.

It didnt alert me of an update. Had to manually check even though all the things were ticked. Anyway its on its way now so I am happy.

Keep checking and it will be pushed out eventually.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers

Have you created a Samsung account and set it to check for updates?

I couldn't watch rented You Tube/Google videos before upgrading to V3.2 and I've found the browser more reliable.

It seems snappier to me tho rotation from landscape to portrait and vice versa is very much slower than before

Got the update last night at last! I noticed the difference in speed straight away, much faster for me. Few niggles, like Google Books is now preinstalled and can't be uninstalled. I also went through the apps and noticed it also had now installed Kobo Reader and a couple of other apps I haven't heard of, so I uninstalled all of them too.

I've heard some people suggest it's good to do a factory reset after updating, is that necessary?

It's not necessary, but I do it to make sure I have a clean firmware installed - no left over bits from the previous firmware. So far I have never had issues that many report here and on various phone forums with any of my Android devices. I consider it to be like doing a clean install of Windows when a new version comes out - it wipes away all remnants of the old version. So either I'm lucky and had no issues, or the clean firmware works better. I dunno...but it doesn't hurt anything to do it, and it's only a minor inconvenience to setup the device again. It's not like you need to do it monthly.

I'm in the UK and have just turned Tab 10.1 on to get the message that an update is available. I've now updated to 3.2. Took about 15mins.

Now just waiting to update my S2 to ICS!!

I'm still waiting for my update. I'm in Canada and just have the Wifi version (no 3G). I find it annoying a bit that those with 3G got the update, but those with just WiFi in the same country haven't gotten the update yet... at least not I.

Has anyone else in Canada with just the WiFI version of the tablet gotten an update? If so, have you purchased your tablet in Canada?

I'm from BC, Canada. Still haven't got a notification for an update. Doesn't really bother me, I'm more anxious for the ICS update

ICS is great on a phone. It will be even better on a tablet.
