The worst of it was to our north. We just has a gusty storm around bedtime. It did, however, give me an excuse to snap off a branch on a neighbors tree that hangs over the sidewalk and when it rains I have to duck to get under it. "Storm damage" ;)

Leaves are falling but a chance of 80 degree temps next week.

The crazy thing about Boston MA is i can remember Christmases with 6 foot snow banks and Christmases where all the kids were whining. "DADDY! Please pur my bike together:(".

You have no idea. When this neighborhood was built some bureaucrat got the idea to make it mandatory that each lot must contain 2 trees in the front yard. (Brother-in-law probably owned the nursery) They planted these damn flowering pear trees much too close to the sidewalk. Sure, when they were saplings, there was no problem, but trees do have this annoying tendency to grow. In 15 years they've become quite intrusive ... and messy - white flowers in spring that look like a late snowfall, a bazillion small leaves in fall that are next to impossible to rake, and fruit! Not real pears, but little hard cherry like things that fall and rot and attract all kinds of critters.

And, the low branches now hang over the sidewalks which puts them around 5' off the ground. VERY inconvenient for someone who is 6' 1". They've even engulfed two of the streetlights making them almost useless in the summer when the trees are fully leafed out. So, if I am walking my dogs in the wee hours and a low branch knocks my hat off, don't be surprised if the sound after the profanity is snapping wood. :)

Trust me, I feel your pain. I have to mow under them daily. Most of problem trees were professionally planted and were to satisfy the area covenants.... come on man! Try mowing an area's commons sometime.... sheesh! I'm sure it all looked great when the area was new. Now most of the foliage is way over grown and looks bad as well as being a hazard. Not to mention the trash they dump on the sidewalks.....

It was supposed to be thunderingly stormy yesterday, but I saw nothing. :(

At least I got to wear a long-sleeve shirt, though.

We're supposed to get more of the same today. Let's hope the tornadic activity decides to stay home this time.

It was cool and overcast here today. Yesterday's high was 92° and today 60°. The cooler weather came in with a half inch of rain over night.

I'll take a couple of months of sunny and cold, please.

Cloudy, but no rain here (yet).

Up N Down in the Midwest ... Wednesday was nearly a record high (mid 90's) then yesterday it never broke the 50's then today started in the 50's with rain, now it's sunny and 70's ... heading to a promised 80ish.

    Ahhh life in the plains.

Missed you guys. It's been ... crazy in my world. But I'm still breathing.

Glad to see that you are hanging in there. Yep, our weather is crazy. Nineties, high fifties, and then near ninety again is crazy. Was extremely foggy here in the early AM. Quite cool, overcast, and wet until the noon hour. Then, like someone hit the switch, the sun came out and it got HOT all over again.

Bloody nineties in the day time, and only 60s at night. Yes you read that right, in October.

I feel your pain and then some. I turned off the AC the other day when it first got cooler. Then I had to turn the darn thing back on because it was miserably hot in the house. However... no AC. I guess a few days off blew it's mind.
$165 later I had it fixed but I didn't need it then. Sheesh! Today I was glad it was working. :)

Grey drizzle in the 60's today. Sunny 80's tomorrow. 70's and rain on Monday ... extended forecast mentions frogs locusts and rivers turning to blood.

I was out labor for a full system inspection and parts and labor for a start capacitor. I felt I got off easy. I replaced the system in 96 and have done nothing beyond change filters since.
