Murphy is my older brother. He predicts six inches.
Fluctuating so madly I'm not sure when to wear thermal underwear. Tonight or tomorrow morning depending on how you look at it though. Accuweather is predicting "Real Feel" in the 30s when I'm at work and coming back home.
The weather is very pleasant. The air is horrible due to a wildfire burning 90 miles northerly of Sacramento (the pic is of the smoke plume taken from sacto, that’s huge!). We’re another 80 or so miles from there, but the smoke is blocking the sun. Ash is falling in some bay areas, just awful. For those of us with asthma or other breathing disorders (or are they ‘challenges?’ - I can’t keep up with the PC crowd) the air is potentially life-threatening.
We received our first dusting of snow today. It was too warm for it to stick. That works for me. Temps hovering just above freezing most of the day.
32 now, going up to 45-ish and, yup, rain!
It just wouldn't be the weekend without rain, right Clem?
FWIW last week's rain put us over the all-time rainfall totals for the year over 1972 when hurricane Agnes laid waste to much of the mid-Atlantic. And we still have two months to go ... and it's raining right now.
Big Santa Ana driven wildfire down here, Malibu-way.
It is close to thermal weather, finally.
The wind has shifted a bit, here's a recent satellite image courtesy of NASA. To give you a sense of scale, the right edge of the red highlight near Chico is the origin of the fire, and from there the crow-flies distance to the coastline (obscured) is roughly 150 miles.
So there I was, enjoying a nice cup of coffee when I looked out the window and there was this white stuff falling from the sky. For a minute I thought maybe a plane carrying a shipment of "MyPillows" had been struck by a flock of white geese, but no, it was snow. Sheesh, right from summer to winter ... again.
Nothing stuck, and the sun's out now, but still .... sheesh.
It slowly climbed into the low forties after reaching an over night low of seventeen degrees. Too dang cold for the beginning of November.
There was white stuff out there when I got up and let the dogs out. White stuff!!! UGH. Oh, barely any really and it's melting rather quickly now but still and all, there was white stuff dammit.
Woke up to four to five inches of snow this morning. Man it's way too early for this crap.
Summer. It's always summer.
Mid thirties here today. My white grief is melting.
Well that looks like you, Clem, DPB, and me are going to have a bad week.
Stock up ladies and gentlemen, I think we're in for a rough season.
Today is really cold weather, because winter is soon in my country. So, I would like to use ducted air conditioning system. Recently guys from service center in Auckland like here installed it in my house. A ducting system, also known as central heating, blows heated or cooled air throughout your home through discreetly installed grill vents.
A wonderfully warm °32 in Beantown.
Yay, only 2-4" of snow coming for me with an ice rain topping!!!!
