A lot of rumbling and grumbling, distant flashes, but not a lot of real fury, and I'm OK with that.
FYI, the last time I saw a green sky we received hail between baseball and softball size. They came through my roof and broke every window in my house. Not to mention the ten grand damage to my wife's car. Keep an eye on that weather. Green is not good.
I was about 7 or 8 the first time I saw green skies, and the storms were ferocious. It wasn't something I was taught, but more something I learned from observation. I'm in the clear now, but there is video from Connecticut, which is a mile or so south of me, with some massive and torrential hail. The front is mostly out to the Atlantic now. \o/
And a point of pride, my son just asked me why it is yellowish green outside, so he's at least aware of his surroundings.
Dodged the rain and thunderstorms that hit the NYC area about a half hour ago. At least the PATH train is running... not so good ATM for anyone going into Long Island via Metro North.
A neighbor's tree came down but luckily it fell between the houses and is just a mess to clean up. No damage or injury. The lightning show was rather spectacular.
Welcome to Florida
Tuesday we had storms, yesterday it was rain, but today it's rain. To change things up, Friday and Saturday will have periods of rain.
We could use some of that rain her in the KC metro. We've had spits and sprinkles with maybe one or two downpours that lasted less than 10 minutes, we're drying out on the vine.
Otherwise weather has been fine, as is usual we went from 12 degrees in April with snow ... the most snow we got all winter, to May being in the 80's. Sigh. I think we got 2 or 3 days of "Spring" this year.
Colder than I thought it should be.
@shalemail it's raining in Wichita now and headed your way. Hope you get some rain out of it.
You better warm it up for next weekend, I'll want nice weather for my fun trip!
We're scheduled for rain most of the day. I shudda mowed the lawn yesterday. Oh well...
I did mow the lawn yesterday because of the weekend forecast. It's raining now and supposed to continue into tomorrow with possible storms tomorrow evening.
I hate cutting wet grass.
Wet grass never looks good post mowing, clogs up the mower deck, and is more trouble than worth IMO. I refuse to cut wet grass until I see myself getting so far behind that I have no other option.
It rained here over night. Only .54 inch here at the ranch but it was much needed.
Well @olbriar we finally got some much needed rain. Bumpers from 2am on. Clearing off now and quite the lovely morning.
Glad you finally got some much need rain my friend.
We just barely got a bit of it here. I have a cabin on the Ninnescah South of here. I think it's been in the direct path of the last two fronts. I'm spending the weekend down there and need to mow. May have to put pontoons on the mower. All good though. It's been way too dry for a Kansas spring.
Nice but I still need a liner in my jacket. It gets cold around here in the early AM.
Cold, I love morning temps. I was out in shorts and a t-shirt this morning. I'm not in the city though, so you probably get a bit more breezy air coming off the cold concrete than I do.
Hot Hot Hot. But we did get a nice rain yesterday that cooled it off for a bit.
76.8° with 82% humidity. Enjoying the fact that the tornado watch expired four minutes ago.
It's about 80-90 degrees. The past week or so has been full-blown summer.
100% humidity this morning. Very foggy and rather gloomy. Reminds me of San Diego in June.
Very comfortable. I took out the lining yesterday.
