Help whatsapp playing wrong notification

I have galaxy s4 With 4.3
Whatsapp 2.11.136

I have a contact setup with custom notifications

Whatsapp plays contact's ring tone instead of message notification.

Any ideas why?

Note: I'm new to android so I might have missed something.

Found it. A setting in Whatsapp. Unchecked 'use contact's custom ringtone as the notification ringtone'
