Why would you need to use paypal?
Probably never, because Google Checkout is a direct competitor to PayPal.
Paypal sucks donkey balls big time. I don't like their business practices. Google Checkout works fine for me.
Yea, google check out works fine.
But, I do see some of the applications that opt for having PayPal as one
of the options to purchase the "full version".
Best example would be the, well known...
"Launcher Pro Plus"
The simple reason why we would like to use PayPal over Google checkout, is that Google, or the banks whack a charge for using credit cards. At least they always have with me, and others.
I bought LauncherPro Plus THROUGH Paypal, and I would gladly pay for other apps through PP as well.
Every time I bought an App through GC, the price doubled when it come to handing over my cash.
I'm sure there are other "unorthodox" ways of getting paid apps, but as most of the developers are probably lone workers, who rely on money from their app sales, I would feel like crap if I was to rip them off.
I don't see why Google, or the banks should rip US off with these charges. When it comes to the Market, the price you see ISN'T the price you pay...
The sooner PP becomes a permanent fixture in the Market, the better.
Google checkout doesn't take debit cards, but Paypal does.
You do realize that there are fees on PayPal as well, right???
My friend who is a developer, would prefer cold hard cash, instead of the PayPal and their fees if possible.
I'd like to use paypal, because a good bit of the applications I want I can't get unless I pirate them, because my bank doesn't allow for 'international purchases' (Anything in Euro's).
