Nope, the leaked version "only supports WVGA854 devices. It will not work on your Eris, Hero, myTouch or G1."

However, do a market search for ShapeWritter. Same idea, and they just released their free beta version for the hero in the last few days.

It will not work on your Eris, Hero, myTouch or G1.

Ive just found out that using shape writer stops you moving your widgets around.
The only way around it was to disable the programme. :(

I had this too, but a turning my phone off/on again fixed it. Still using shapewriter, getting faster, now faster and more accurate than with the default keypad. Love it.

Jesus, just downloaded...mad as you like. Not sure I like it, but fun to play with. Don't think it'll be much use after you've had a few and trying to send a text!! :)

Can't move my widgets now though!!

Does a reboot not fix this?

Does locale have an effect on whether this works or not? I've installed it, switched it on but I'm just getting the old default keyboard. Can't seem to bring up the shapewriter one at all. My phone is all English but the locale is Czech: English (Czech Republic). Could that be the problem?

Maybe you've already done this but once you've ticked shapewriter in Settings >> Locale and Text you then have to long press in a text box and pick Select Input Method to switch keyboards.

Ah ha! No I didn't, that's done it. thanks.

Tried changing my location with More Locations 2 (to both UK and US) to see if that was the problem - obviously wasn't, but it did screw my lock screen: The curvy grey bar went a bit too curvy and the time didn't fit in it anymore. It also made unlocking it rather tricky. All sorted now. Thanks.

I'm a bit confused by the fact some people have a 30 day trial.

I know when I found ShapeWriter a few weeks ago three was a 30 day trial version, but then recently a free (beta) version specifically for the hero appeared (which is a bit better IMO). Are you sure you guys are using the right version?

I'm running the Beta version which i got from the android market.
But I'm sure it says on their website that it is a 30 day trial ?.
