On my OG Droid, most of my contacts had pics from their Facebook profile. Now that I switched to GN, only the few contacts with gmail pics have pictures. I tried searching, but the only possible solution I saw was to install Friendcaster. I started to install it, but the huge list of access I needed to grant made me unsure. The description of Friendcaster just sounds like a FB app replacement (which I'm not really interested in). Help?

I use the app SyncMyPix. It needs to access to Facebook and it looks safe to me.

HaxSync also works, not sure if better than SyncMy Pix or not, but it syncs high res pics. I used it then turned off the sync because I don't need a constant update, just wanted some pictures on my contacts.

Yes, as a matter of fact my dad uses an old yearbook picture on facebook, and it looks really odd as high res on my phone because the original was such low quality compared to "modern" photography.

    I think HaxSync is what, $.99? It's a $300 (or $650) phone.

+1 Haxsync!! I was reluctant to try anything and instead loaded my own pics to my favorites and settled for that. Just tried this based on the recommendations here. FANTASTIC!! Well worth the .99!!!!!!!!!

My question now is - once I have removed the picture that I assigned a contact, how to I make it re-sync to facebook?

    NEVERMIND. I got it.

I have tried both FriendCaster and HaxSync...both worked, but...they added facebook contacts which were not already in my contacts...I only wanted those already there and for which I have phone numbers. And in both cases I could not delete a contact added by FC or HS, I could only hide. But worse I could not edit a contact sync'ed so I could not change a phone number where needed.

So I deleted both and will continue to look for a better solution.

    Any ideas?

Haxsync is AMAZING. Its too bad I had to pay for it, but it makes my phone feel more complete!
