How was your experience with the retailer you used?
I got it from Amazonwireless. Got it for a great price and it shipped on time. Nothing really beyond that.
Picked up 2 at Costco with the deal they just recently had.
I got mine from Best Buy Mobile. I was able to talk them down from $299 to $150. Don't be afraid to haggle with them. They would have given me 2 for that price but my wife insisted she have the iphone. Not only that, we traded in our old G1's for a best buy gift card. They gave us $43 for each phone (gift card).
im also looking to possibly pickup a charge and paying full retail but was wondering the best price. I know verizon charging 570 and was wondering if there was any better deals?? cant wait for sgs2 anymore. want away from iphone now! haha
i got mine at Costco. Couldn't be happier with the service and the price
i was looking into costco and it appears they only sell for 2 yr upgrades and not full retail. am i correct on this??
Ordered mine via phone from Verizon. Though in the future I probably will buy from Best Buy Mobile.
Got mine from the Verizon Wireless website. Got it for $150 shipped.
Verizon just knocked the price down today from $299 to $249 w/ a 2 year contract
Costco could nto be happier.
Where do you see that? Still showing 299 for me.
Thats how they all are no more 1 year contracts with verizon.
it showed up 249.99 for me when i signed into my verizon account. Just ordered one today not going to wait around and lose unlimited data. If any of the supposed new coming phones really impress me then Ill just sell the charge and pay full retail.
Just bought my g/f a DC from Costco today, very pleased with the service. Actually I helped someone else make a decision to buy the Charge today, too. Shoulda got a discount for that. lol
A few questions for those who purchased as Costco.
Did you look closely to make sure it was brand new and not a returned phone? Would Costco do this? I've heard some retailers try to pass off returns as brand new.
Do they charge the activation fee?
Can you port over a number from another carrier with no hassle and have the phone work before you walk out the door?
got mine at local verizon store (Franchise owned). They match Verizon Website/online price of $269. but the same store could not match my wife's LG revolution of $119 ($249 - $30(discount) - $100(credit). so, order the Revolution online for $119. Luckily, I did that...got 20% discount on monthly data plan on wife phone thru' company discount....
I got my DC at the local VZW retail franchise store, I love teaching the salespeople about the pros and cons of each phone and then demonstrating this in the store... Hopefully by doing this more people will get better gouge from the sales personnel. Usually sell a couple of phones when I am in there to customers who really want answers and the store just does not know... The training program seems to be lacking at Big Red, Iphone this, Iphone that... However I always pass this website out, this forum out, and encourage the sales people to complete their Jedi Training by the best Forum on the net.
Hands Down I learn more here than anywhere.
Got my Droid Charge from Costco today.
However I had a few problems with changing the Family Share Plan to a new one which supports a data package for the primary line. The rep made me talk to a Verizon rep myself to change the plan because he couldn't change it on the computer.
The DC they gave me was brand new, original packaging, stickers, everything new.
The activation was at no cost since it was an upgrade. It was a timely process, since there was no service inside, two reps had to go outside to get some decent service.
Waited nearly 2 hours and held up a lot of po'd people.
Great phone, great price.
$249.99-$70 coupon= $179.99 w/o tax. They taxed the $299.99.
I'm a little unique. I'm saving my upgrade for the Galaxy SII but wanted grandfathered unlimited 4G data so I took a chance and got mine off eBay for $400 with a 16gb card in lieu of the 32gb pre-installed card. Couldn't be happier, especially since I dumped my Incredible plus accessories for $200. Now I'm just holding out for either the official Gingerbread build or CM7 to make this phone simply amazing.
As for the Verizon direct online price, it's still $299 on contract. If you have some sort of registered corporate discount with your company, it's $50 off as are a number of other phones. If I go to the website, it's $299. If I log in to my account and go through the upgrade link, it's $249.
1. My Charge from Costco is a brand new phone. I don't think Costco sells anything that's been returned as new.
2. Activation fee is charged, then credited back. Not sure why they do it that way.
3. We had my wife's number ported from AT&T, and the Costco sales staff transferred all her contacts, etc. (she has dumb phone). Both phones worked flawlessly before we left the store.
I ordered mine over the phone direct from Verizon. It's a bit of a long story.
Originally, I had used the upgrade from another line on my account to get a Droid X2. I activated it and used it for 13 days. I wasn't too happy with the media skipping/popping, since I primarily use my phone for podcasts, Pandora, etc. I called Verizon and they initially told me that I couldn't exchange the phone because the 14-day Worry Free Guarantee starts on purchase date, not activation date. After a bit of arguing, I hung up and called back. The next rep immediately told me that I would be okay to exchange it. I get to the store, and we're right back to them using the purchase date, rather than activation date.
I spent a few hours on the phone arguing this (since the "2 day" shipping spanned a weekend and holiday, I got screwed out of half of the 14 days). In the end, I was given a $50 credit for the shipping hassle and a credit for 4 months of data (about $100 after my corporate discount). With the original purchase price of $149 after the NE2 $50 discount, this essentially made the X2 free. They then gave me a free upgrade on my line and let me purchase a Charge for $299.
Yesterday, I emailed customer support asking if they would price match, full or partial, other retailers, since Amazon, Wirefly, and Walmart all had the Charge for $199. I wasn't expecting anything other than a no, but was very surprised when they gave me a $50 customer service credit "as a long-standing customer".
So, long story short, I ended up with a Charge and an X2 for $250. Sometimes it takes a bit of arguing, but Verizon actually does seem to care about customer service in the end. Sorry for the novel.
Best Buy agreed to match Walmart's $199 price for me, since Walmart is a retail store. Amazon and Costco BB would not.
Haha, that is the EXACT same situation my friend and I are in. We're buying from Costco. It's $179.99 + car charger + case.
costco, cant beat $179.99
