I have checked all over, but I cannot find an original battery anywhere. Ideas?

Yes, I have been eyeballing the 1750mah battery they have, although I would prefer a much larger battery and new battery cover for it. I do not mind the larger size and like the extra capacity which I can use.

I will probably pick up the smaller 1750mah unit for a spare for now until a larger one is available with the proper cover for the Sprint version of the Hero.

    Edit: http://www.seidioonline.com/category-s/3689.htm

Note the "coming battery" that is listed below the 1750mah. This is a BIG battery (approaching 3000 mah) which will come with a new cover for the Sprint Hero. I have talked with Seidio and sent them a notification request to be notified when they find out an arrival date -- the battery and cover are in development now. Will advise when I hear anything.

They sell the external battery, but not an external charger. Anyone have a recommendation for that?

You can buy one from a sprint store or online at sprint.com, you might pay more for it but at least you know it's official. :D

those external battery contraptions are not worth the money. get a quality extended battery from seidio and avoid the rest.

I like to keep my cell phone with me at all times and so I swap batteries in/out.
