Hi, I have a tablet which has begin downloading other apps. by itself.
com.android.systemUI appears to be one of the causes.
I am assuming there is a process which contains a list of apps to download
I can SSL into the system and I managed to rename one of the offending apps and it stopped for a day. Then it began again, I viewed the sdcard and 'sharecloud' appeared again.
My quesiton is: How do I identify what is causing this to happen.
I'm convinced its a virus of some type but I can't find where it lives.

Any help would be much appreciated.

The most likely cause is that an app you installed contains a downloader. Can you recall installing anything new around the time this behaviour started?

The most effective solution would be to simply factory-reset the tablet, but ensure that you deselect the "Automatically restore..." option during setup to prevent any malicious apps reinstalling themselves.

This appears to be a chinese knockoff machine. There is no "Automatically restore" option.
I've done a full factory reset. Cleared the cache, removed extra sd card.
it keeps creating folders in /data.
    /data/DownLoader
    /data/sharecloud
    /data/swiftwift

    and a few more....

    apps such as:
    Superb Cleaner
    Words
    MAPS.ME
    Slots Pharoes
    Clash of Kings
    Sugar Smash
    SmsManager
    get downloaded and installed

I can delete them and as long as wifi is off all is good, as soon as wifi is on it goes nuts.
i can ssh into it and remove the folders from /mnt/sdcard0 but they just reappear.

This happened to my mother's phone that she bought without my consent, I'm usually the one who buys the devices for my family but she was convinced by her friend to buy a no brand phone. I factory reset the damn thing but it keeps coming back and there is no available stock rom to reflash since its a no brand. What I found most effective is throwing the damn thing in the garbage can.

If I ssh into the tablet and do 'top' I notice there are a huge number of USER accounts.
Is this normal ? see the image
