Okay - I rooted, flashed all the way to Gingerbread .595, and thought I was getting the hang of this. Then I tried to run Titanium backup and it spit out an error and told me I needed Root access to to do it. Per another thread, I tried to install BusyBox and that told me the same. Wondering if I'd missed something, I ran Gingerbreak (again) v1.2, but still no luck.

My DX still works fine, but my Root seems to have gone away. Can anyone tell me what I've done here?

Sounds like you flashed the full stock .595 leak (non rooted). Gingerbreak won't work on it. you will have to SBF back to .340 and start all over again. check your GB downloads. the .595 leak you want is the rooted/deodexed rom.

I had the same thing happen. First of all, check another root app and see if it works. If it does, uninstall TiBu, reboot, re-install TiBu. That worked for me.

If none of your root apps work, then you've got a GingerBreak problem

Did you open TiBu and do the "Problems?" This will install busy box for TiBu directly then you can attempt to add to the bin folder

To confirm your not rooted. Download a terminal emulator and type SU if the $ changes to # then you have root.

I tried that this morning. Still no luck. Looks like I'll be going the SBF root since Superuser keeps giving me a "Force Close".

BTW: The latest version of Gingerbreak I tried was v1.20. Is there a newer version that I'm missing?

i would PM bouchigo and ask if he can make you a deodex file for your odexed file

he is the real person you need to ask, as he was the first i believe to offer us a deodex for the first gb leak. so give him a PM and request that he take the time to produce one for you. he may tell you, that you can go from odexed to deodexed without and hiccups, but you wont know til you try

So, there's no way to go from Deodexed GB .595 from stock .595 directly? Just asking before I go the long way around.

There is, but only if you can get stock .595 rooted somehow.

Gingerbreak has had mixed reports. Some people managed to get it to work, most did not.
