Root Which Droid X ROM

I'm new to rooting but just successfully rooted with z4root. Now, I currently rom stock ROM 2.3.340.MB810.Verizon.en.US - is that still Froyo?

Is there a stable Gingerbread version out and if so, what is it called?

yes, you are still using Froyo on your phone. I would recommend starting with Apex 1.4.1 rom, very stable and gingerbread-themed. very fast also
