which folder for ringtones?

Where do I place homemade ringtones on my SDmicrocard?

I looked at the file structure on my card and there are 13 folders, and 2 subfolders:
.bookmark_tumb1
.footprints
albumthumbs
dcim
- thumbnails
- 100MEDIA
download
HandWxCondtionsIconCache
HandForecastIconCache
HandWxRadarImageCache
HTC Sync
Music
rosie_scroll
Wallpaper

Also, I used to send homemade ringtones (from my laptop) to my cellphone via an attachment in a text message from SprintUsers Focus Uploader, but, for some reason, it doesn't send the text message anymore.

Adding New Ringtones

To add new ringtones, connect your Hero to USB and mount the device on your PC. Browser to the following folders:

/sdcard/media/audio/ringtones
/sdcard/media/audio/notifications

Copy your mp3 files into either of the folders above. Then go to:

Settings > sound and display > phone ringtone

Then select the ringtone you put in the above folder(s).

Yes, I saw that earlier and that's why I mentioned which folders are on my card. None of those folders are on it. That's my point!

Well, he said "browse", not "create."

Are you telling me that if you download a ringtone that there will be no place to store it unless you FIRST manually create this folder structure? Somehow, I think not.

Well, I did it it manually and it worked. (It takes a big man to admit he's wrong )

Now - what about "alarm" tones? I use my phone as an alarm clock and I have rather found of some particular tones. Perhaps I make a folder called "alarms" ????

why dont you download the zedge app from the marketplace ad not have to worry about what to do and where to place them. it does it all for you.
