Which is better - extra battery or portable charger?

Advantage to the extra battery is that you can use it anywhere you are (example: camping). Disadvantage is it's "bulky" and takes up space.
Advantage to the charger is that you can give your phone some juice while in the car or at work. Disadvantage is that it is slow.
