    Hello!

While being an obviously simple question, I simply cannot decide myself what could be the best for my own needs.
I come from an LG G2 stuck with Android KitKat, my main issues with it are mainly the software, plastic build and heating issues. Otherwise great performer when it doesn't lag, really nice screen and pretty good camera especially coming from a 2013 smartphone.

Now. I have quite a lot of phones I'd really like to consider, but I keep hesitating either because of the cameras between each phone, the software and updates, the design and feel, I just can't decide.
What I'm especially looking for in my next phone is good software (without it especially being Stock) as long as the updates don't take too long to come, a good build quality, a camera that is worth the upgrade over my G2's camera, and at least a decent to good battery life (and optionally good speakers or just a good headphone jack).

The phones I'm considering are the Nexus 6P, Galaxy Note 5, Huawei P9, LG V10 and Galaxy S7.

They all seem to have great things about them, but I just can't decide myself because of their different compromises. So I'd really like to know what you guys think.

If there are phones you think might interest me please let me know, I'd be curious to see!

Depends on a lot of things. How would you consider good builf quality? The S7 has excellent build quality, but fragile. The Nexus 6P is excellent too, but I think it's plastic, hence not as good feel. The V10 is also plastic but has a nice back. The P9 is aluminum.

Updates would depend on your carrier and not the brand. Getting any of these phones (except for Nexus) won't guarantee any software update. If your carrier decides to forgo updates, you'll be at a loss even if the rest of the world and unlocked devices get it.

Camera on any of those would do fine.

Just get the one that makes most sense to you financial wise.

I'll probably be using a case whichever phone I chose, but I'll consider your comments for each, so thanks ^^

We learn new things every day, and I thought it depended on the brand.
I'm in France and would probably be buying my phone unlocked. But since it depends on the career, I guess I'll only take one that's available on the career store.

    Alright.

Thank you for your help ^^

I think you misunderstood RisingGear77. Unlocked is good.

It seems like I did indeed. Sorry, I just wasn't sure how it all works.
It's just that when getting my unlocked LG G2, I haven't gotten any updates for it, so I thought the career might have something to do with it

    Does the LG G 2 have Internet-passthrough?

Uuuuuh I really have no idea, unless "Tethering" is it? (it's in the options when I connect my G2 to my laptop)

Slight correction to earlier info: the Nexus 6P has an aluminium casing, though I think there are plastic windows for the antennae (phablets aren't my thing, so I've not looked too closely).

Oh yes, I remember seeing a teardown showing the back chassis being aluminum with plastic under the camera lens and bottom antenna or something like that.

Your phone doesn't necessarily need to be purchased from your carrier for optimum compatibility, use this to verify what will work on the network you use most often:

    http://willmyphonework.net/

Since you'll be using a case,JMHO,the build materials are of less consequence to sway one way or another on what you ultimately choose.

The V10 seems to fit your criteria best:
    Nice camera,excellent audio,just a good all-around feature-packed phone,still a Top
    Ten on my list.

If the S-Pen functions are intriguing,I'd recommend the Note4 or Note5.

You should pick Samsung, because software is the best.

iFixit has a Youtube channel with tear down videos of almost every mainstream phone.

    Thank you, I'll have a look ^^
I'll have to look into these two as they do interest me. My only fear is the software, how it'll hold up and what updates it'll be getting so I don't find myself in the same situation as with my G2.

How good has TouchWiz been on the S7? I keep hearing it's been improved a lot since the S6, but I keep hearing the same bad stuff with it, I just don't know who to believe.

The first one I saw doing a teardown was with JerryRigsEverything
