I have an HTC Evo Design 4G, Boost mobile carrier.

I can't find a guide for Android version 4.0.3 "Ice cream sandwhich" most guide only go up to 2.x.x or so. Is there a method that works for software number 1.11.653.0 710RD?

I successfully unlocked the bootloader (v 1.30) using HTC method. I want to root now, preferrably without the "digital watermark". and S-off if possible. Though I've heard it's not possible under new ota(?)

s-off is not possible. however for root you just simply install this http://androidforums.com/evo-design...78-root-stock-rooted-rom-no-cwm-required.html (the first link) follow the instructions on there. :) have a great day, and welcome to the Evo Design All Things Root forums :)

Doesn't seem like Hboot can load PH44IMG.zip ? It finds it, it tells me "wrong zipped image!" then goes back to boot loader menu... CWM?

well, tried that method, it just freezes on "parsing" stage and goes no further. I've unlocked it, changed the version number, done everything in the guide. Keep hitting road blocks.

    Any ideas?

I am on the same firmware as you, I got my phone rooted using http://androidforums.com/evo-design...sh-cwm-get-latest-update-1-11-653-0-root.html the top section, after I installed the cwm I made a backup and then installed zombu2's CWM Root Zip file -under her Installing the Latest Update via Nandroid Backup and Root section and received root that way. I'm not sure what mean about the watermark and s-off but mine is just stock (same firmware) but with superuser.

I don't recommend to install a old firmware. Simple root is to unlock, flash recovery and go to superusers website for the flashable su zip.
