The warranty's already gone on my Galaxy SII LTE, so I decided to root it with Kingo ROOT.
Following that, I installed NoBloat, just to disable a few things that were just slowing my phone down.

I've noticed though that unless I have one of the notifications that came with the phone set as my message tone, I get that stupid whistle. Even after going into /system/media/audio/notifications with the pro version of Root Explorer and deleting the Whistle tone, it'll still play!

I'd like to use some of my own ringtones, so what can I do to annihilate that stupid whistle?

By the way, my Android version is 4.1.2

One of the suggestions I have for you is to inside the folder that contains that "whisle" copy the file named "nomedia"..you can find it inside your root folders..let me know.

Yep, that did the trick! Just had to get rid of that .nomedia file.
    Thanks!
