I have a spot on the black metal part of the screen that chipped off too. I've had mine since the day it came out, so just about 9 months now. I'm covering the spot up with a case and I'll give the gold paint market a shot. I wish Moto had just made the button black like the volume rocker, the gold was never good looking in the first place, especially since it's just cheap paint and not even solid plastic.
