    Hi

I have an Motorola Android, 2.2.2 version and yesterday these white boxes showed up on the bottom of my screen. They look like icons for the home screens but when you tap on them, they do nothing. They are annoying and I want to remove them but don't know how.

    Can anyone help?[IMG]

    Welcome to the Android Forums.

Can you long-press the screens and drag them to the trash?

It looks like the homescreen preview. I think you would just log press the home key to get rid of them.

    Hi

I tried to long press per the suggestions but it does not do anything...the long press does not engage these previews. It is very frustrating.

    Any other suggestions?

    Lisa,

Have you ever deleted any of the icons on the homescreen? Just wanted to make sure we were all talking about the same thing.

I think we are saying that if you long-press (and hold) one of the icons, you'll see a trashcan icon appear at the bottom center of your homescreen. When it does, try dragging the icon that you want to get rid of onto the trashcan to try to delete it.

Sorry if this is something you already know / tried, but I didn't want to assume anything.

Also, can you tell us exactly what kind of phone you have (that might help)?

    Let us know.

    Cheers!

    Lisa,

What kind of phone do you have?

Maybe others with your same phone have the same issue and we could direct you to that phone's forum for possible answers / help.

    Thanks!

    Scary Alien:

I listed that it was a Motorola Android, version 2.2.2 with Verizon Service...I'm not sure what else you are looking for.

    Lisa,

Sorry for the confusion...I went back and looked at your pictures in the first post and it looks like you have a Motorola Droid (i.e., with a slide-out keyboard, right?).

I'm thinking that what you are seeing is like what ValerieAnne suggested that these are home screen previews, but might be controlled / generated by your launcher settings. I'm not familiar with this, however, or what setting it might be that is causing them to be displayed...

Can you press the menu key while on the home screen and see if there is a setting in your Preferences that might have something to do with home screen previews?

    Thanks!

    Hi all

My phone froze today so I shut it down completely for 10 minutes and low and behold, when it booted back up, the white preview screens were go. So far, they have not reappeared. I did try everyone's suggestions and appreciate all the help. Will be back to you if they reappear.

    Thanks for everything.

    Lisa
