That's not accurate, they will let you grandfather the unlimited data on any smartphone you get regardless if it is 2G, 3G, 4G. As long as you don't request to go to 2G or 250mb. Verizon is the exact same way with their grandfathered users with unlimited.

    LTE changes nothing.

Weird, everyone I know has been telling me that if you upgrade to a 4G data plan, you have to choose a new plan, and unlimited is not one of the options for a new plan.

Still, even if you're right, I'm not sure I want to keep waiting on AT&T to get their act together. I'm long overdue on a new phone and the LTE Nexus is perfect for me, waiting for AT&T to get LTE in my city and release the Nexus could take months if not another year.

Switched 2 years ago for the Droid, but I'm off contract now and have no qualms about switching to another carrier if Verizon pooches this phone release with something stupid like crapware or a locked boot loader.

Hold on, I'm an att customer. Are you saying I can buy a verizon phone off contract and just add a plan and stop using it whenever I want without paying an etf?

Sprint is waiving my ETF because cell coverage at my house is so crappy. Thus, I'm switching to VZW (still undecided on the Nexus or Rezound, though).

No, I'm not even considering switching from AT&T to Verizon for the Galaxy Nexus. Why? Two reasons: First, I refuse to spend money on a CDMA device. You may own your phone, but you have zero portability to another carrier if you get fed up with the one you've got. Second, Verizon's window of exclusivity is a narrow (although not yet spelled out) one, and a US GSM version of the Galaxy Nexus just simply makes business sense for Google and Samsung. They would be totally crazy to offer their flagship phone to the US market only as a CDMA device. I just can't see them kissing off both AT&T and T-Mobile, in this market.

Lol funny enough, I'm actually switching FROM Verizon for the Nexus XD

(I do prepaid - VZW doesn't have that option for 4G phones... Hello T-Mobile ^^)

Edit: srsly people need to stop talking about this "verizon exclusive" bs rumor like its a confirmed fact.

also, just a sidenote, i actually like the GSM verison better (unless it turns out its only available in 16gigs) because its thinner, the HSPA+ eats up less battery and has more than enough speeds for me (heavy user/gamer, speed is still enough), and you can use it around the world and/or pop in any sim card anytime (i dont travel, but still.. very nice)
Oh and my plan just got cut by nearly $70 by switching from Verizon to Tmobile :p from $95 to $30. 100 minutes (no1 uses talk lol) unlimited text and web, 5GB of 4G

i'm considering it but it's tough due to the following

I have 1000 minutes a month, unlimited nights and weekends and rollover for $35
unlimited data that's not throttled at 2 gig like verizon
I can upgrade for full discount ever 6 months
    i have 10,000 rollover minutes
att's lte falls back to hspa+, not 3g
voice and data on both which i use constantly

i can go to verzion but it would cost me almost $60 more a month and i'd only get 5 gig of data.

I have great service with att and never drop calls. I just wish the gsm version of the gnex was LTE and hspa+ only

Switching from Sprint to Verizon for this phone. ETF will be less than my monthly bill.

    Handtec has a 90-day return policy. I bought my 16GB yesterday and will return if/when the 32GB is set for a release date. Keeping the shipping box, receipt, and everything the order will come with :}

Hey I also posted in the other thread on XDA...

Does Handtec let you return it even if you've opened and used it?

Oh my bad that was for used items >< smh

    "Open-Box Items/Customer returns (Used)

Please note that our open-box (used) stock is sold with 90 calendar days warranty only, and therefore any claims under the warranty after 90 days of receipt will not be accepted. "

With non-faulty goods, you have 7 working days after receiving your item to return it o_O

Guess I'll just ebay my Nexus before the 32GB is released. The cool thing is I wont lose any money since i wont have to import and pay more for the new nexus as it will be available in the US by the time the 32GB is out. So whatever money I lose from selling my old nexus will be made up by the lower price of not having to import my next one.

Agreed on all points. To buy a CDMA phone from Verizon is like buying a Toyota car that can only use Toyota gas stations. I guess all the guys on Verizon don't travel either since the rest of the world is on GSM.

I really want one by mid January. I am considering buying one from the UK. I think the freqs look right...but 500 pounds!

    Has anyone else tried this?
