I have been using dolphin but thinking of going back to the standard browser because it has a flash player, whereas dolphin lacks that. Is this a good or bad idea to go back to standard browser?

I personally like dolphin because you can exit and when exiting you can clear cache.

The stock browser seems like a fine one to me.

I even like the way the menu, bookmarks and other features work.

    Plus flash. ;)

I tried Dolphin and it was just not for me, especially the gestures thing.

I'm perfectly happy with the standard browser ... but that said, when they release Opera Mobile for the Android next week, I'm gonna be first in line!

Opera-mini fan here, coming from a Samsung Instinct. The Mobile does look tantalizing for sure.

I don't know if the Opera Mobile is coming to Eris, but I know Opera's browsers, including the Mini I used on my Instinct, are fast and chocked full of great features.

I'm using the standard browser. I haven't really messed around with any of the others. Coming from a BlackBerry it is a billion time better. So far it does what I need it to.

so i just got an update for the dolphin browser thats causing severe force closes!
so i went back to the original browser, well, im trying the steel browser...who just got bought by skyfire YAY!
but im defaulting to the original browser. its much more polished just not as advanced as a dolphin, skyfire, opera...
    but its really reliable.

What advancements do Dolphin and Steel offer over the stock browser?

    nothing too major honestly.
it has tabs, the ability to store cache on the SD card, multi touch (nothing major for us, just other android phones that do not have multi touch on there stardard browser), you can skin it too which is pretty cool. but like i said, since the update its been crashing so it sucks right now :(
regarding steel, i just got it today so...still testing. though, i kind of hate it already.

The cool thing about opera is that it has a data-compression technology, that should speed up the web-browsing experience noticeably ... especially on slower connections. At least, that's what I"m hoping.

I like the standard browser. My only wish is to see the notification bar while the browser is open. Oh well.

I like the HTC Browser, flash is just to awesome. One thing that I really didnt like about the regualer android browser was when I would go to another window and then come back to the browser the page would refresh itself, with the HTC browser it doesnt do that :)
