I'm curious who might be thinking about or getting this FlagShip offering from Samsung? I haven't researched this phone but knowing Sammy it is feature rich. Let everyone know of your thoughts about this phone and if you are a buyer, please let us know the good and the bad... if any.

I'm more drawn to the flip over the fold personally, would like hands on with both eventually to see which feels more practical.

Probably not. The flip design and the external screen are appealing but at 72mm it's wider than I want, and I'd really prefer something without a crease (ideally without a punch hole too). So I think I'll skip this generation. The rumours that the base S22 will be slightly smaller than the S21 make that more interesting to me (my Pixel 2's battery is ageing so I'm beginning to evaluate replacements more seriously now, but hope it can last another 6-9 months).

The flexible screen format that most interests me is the rollable rather than the foldable phone. Since I tend to keep phones for 4-5 years I'm hoping that that form-factor will be a sensible option by my update after next.

I'd be more interested in the Flip if it didn't have a glass back. I'd be more willing to carry a phone whose screen folds inward without a case if they didn't make the outside out of a frangible material. But this stupid concept of "glass is premium" means that an expensive device is still condemned to be a fragile one...

I used to care about getting a flagship time these days I really don't. I'm more interested in getting one of those clinics or new security phones and checking how those things work and seeing how it works out.

I don't really like spending $1,000 on a phone especially something that can just walk away quite easily or break.
but I do tend to pick them up when they are refurbished or highly discounted

head on out to your local carrier or places like Best Buy. i spent some time today at both verizon and best buy and was able to play with both. the only thing that sucks is they were mounted on security mounts so that you can't really get a feel for the weight of the devices.

i will say this both screens when unfolded looks really good. the snap when they fold close feels really good.

I'd be interested in the flip if I could find a slim case with full coverage (i.e., no button cutouts). The buttons are so close to the edge of the screen that ever case I've seen with cutouts extends the cutout to the edge, thus leaving an unprotected area around the all-important screen.

It's super hard to find slim and quality cases for both the flip 3 and the fold 3. I will try to keep it safe and I don't wanna put in any crappy looking cases on my phone.

Bit late to the game here, I had the original Z flip 5G and just upgraded to the flip 3 5g. The one thing I noticed that was different besides the larger back screen is the screen protector it came with still feels like glass compared to the original flip. That one felt kind of tacky, reminded me of the Zagg Invisible shield protectors.

This one feels as smooth as glass so there's one thing on the + side. So far......

Well, I just bought a refurbished one for pretty cheap compared to the original price when it came out.

Should be getting it next Wednesday.
