Help Why 2 step sign in

I'm having a lot of trouble with the 2 step sign in. Can't I just have 1 step

WHEN THE CODE COMES TO ME IT DROPS OFF MY SCREEN BEFORE I CAN SEE IT

Try going to Settings > Google > Sign-in & security > Signing in to Google > 2-Step Verification

You should be able to disable it.
