I may be wrong, but it suggests to me that we may have to wait a while for Jelly Bean. Perhaps 4.0.4 is just to appease users by fixing some of the major issues. Otherwise, as you say, it makes no sense.
What update is this? My update button offers me nothing. There's a tegra update as well, apparently, that is meant to really boost the machine.

It's not been released for UK unbranded handsets so you can't blame the networks just yet
Generally though, the networks add their own software and radios so it takes a little longer to test than the unbranded stuff. It's frustrating I know, but that's one of the unfortunate pitfalls of branded handsets.

I blame the networks, from what i have found out from a few sources now the UK networks hold up the unbranded updates too.
Glad a RUU was available though, i am on 4.04 now & it is faster.

That's what I don't understand....surely having unbranded phones would mean that we get update quickly as there is nothing for the networks to do then follow on with branded phones....am I missing the point here?
Had it confirmed by some senior staff at Phones 4 u, also someone over at xda had it confirmed by an HTC rep. If you are unbranded you can go the RUU route, bit of a pain i know but for those of us who have had rooted phones in the past we are used to it.
Here is another speed test as my phone is unrooted & bog standard, the 4.04 base puts the One X where it should be against the SGS3

Cheers anoniemouse, I found the link on another thread so its just finished now. Think I'll post a new thread about it because after doing this I don't see the need to wait around for updates again, was so simple!
