Now when I first took some photos under the 1st lighting my photos came out like this:

I figured it was the lighting, so I bought a photography kit and increased the lighting. However as you can see I'm still seeing those same lines.

Notice the first picture is taken vertically and the second one is taken horizontally with the camera making the lines come out different. Do you think I have a faulty camera? Has anyone experienced anything like this and is there a way to fix it?

It looks like you might have a faulty sensor.

At least your camera is working. Most SGS2's cameras get a "Camera Failed" error when we try and start up the camera app.

Most? I've never had that problem, neither has my girlfriend or two of my friends.

I'm not saying it doesn't exist but the problem probably isn't as widespread as you think.

UPDATE: Thanks for the replies guys. I seem to have figured out the problem. First I downloaded the program Camera Zoom FX. I next took a photo of a coke can with no surrounding lights, except the one from the ceiling. When I did this I noticed the flash take place and the picture didn't end up with any of the lines. So based on this I decided to take a similar photo as my original post except with no surrounding lights (just the ceiling light) as I did with the coke can. This seemed to fix it. These are the photos I got:

It seems like the surrounding lights were causing the lines in the photo. My dad said he has heard of something like that where lights cancel each other out. Whatever it is, the lines seemed to have gone after removing the extra lights.

Edit: This is what my dad was able to pull up on the subject if anyone is interested:

I'm going to have to see if I can get a new phone then. I've searched around the interwebs and I find a bunch of people with my same problem. I thought it might have been a manufacturer fault or something so I was just gonna deal with it. But if what you say is true, there is nothing to lose if I try. My phone is only 3-4 days old. Still has warranty on it.

Yeah, it's probably a lemon. People usually post issues rather then things that work on forums, which is why you'll see a few people on here having the same problem versus not having it.
