Looked at a DX2 this weekend with the 2.2.2. Looks a lot like gingerbread but seemed to be quite quick. Why wouldn't we be able to run this OS on our phones? Just curious.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that the Dual Core 1 ghz processor in there might have something to do with the quickness you noticed. You know, or not.

I realize it has dual core, but it just seemed if the X can run GB, it could run the X2's os.

Our phones should be able run it from a hardware standpoint because its just Froyo with the new Blur over top of it...

    - any performance increase would most likely be from the dual core CPU and additional RAM

    - the X2 has plenty of its own software problems...you should read that forum...so Idk if I would want it...

    - its still only Froyo...I wouldn't want the downgrade in OS...if you think the X2 performs well with Froyo wait till it gets GB...dang that thing will fly...

    - We don't know if we could get it to run with our kernel...

What does our X's have for ram? Isn't it something like 128? My friend that just got the X2 took it back for a refund. Big red was charging him 30 bucks a month for only 2 gigs of data. He thought, and was told multiple times, it was 30 bucks for unlimited data. VZW is out of their minds if thats what you get for data these days.

The X and X2 both have 512 MB of RAM.

Where the hell did you get the 128 from? Even the OG droid had 256 MB of RAM...

Big Red now charges $30 a month for 2 GB of DATA.

If you had $30 unlimited, you'll have that for until they decide to can it.

I wasn't sure how much ram the x had. I thought it was less but ok....lol.
And I get unlimited data for 30 bucks a month. I go through a prepaid company for it. Its the best thing since sliced bread. Unlimited everything, no monkey on my back, and my phone is MINE now. Not in two years.

P3Droid just got the DX2 OS. Said he would have it rooted soon. But, also said it looked like they changed the bootloader. No, its not unlocked, but the camera works...lol

I'm not even worried about what Moto does anymore......My next phone (and most likely every phone from here on in) will not be a Moto phone.

I'm with you Bo! What's our next phone gonna be? The Galaxy S II is looking good so far, but I'll wait to early next year and see what's out there. Which phone companies are not locking the bootloader these days? On Verizon that is cause I live in the stix and Big Red is the only one with decent service here.

I can confirm the X2's does have a different kernel, baseband, and build number.

you might as well wait for the next google phone if you need to, because in all honesty, thats when (* SUPPOSEDLY*) that the next Nexus phone will be featured on all 4 main carriers
