So when you go to the *#*#4636#*#* menu there are copious amounts of things referencing gsm and gprs? You can change the mode to gsm only and wcdma and all this gsm stuff that doesn't work! If your connected to the 3g it says the gprs network is connected?? There is no gsm so why does it say that? I am not trying to start something that there is a hidden world mode because I know there is not. There is also a sim card address book??? So why on a phone that has no affiliation to gsm is there even any data in about gsm and almost no data on cdma? I mean sprint has had android so it is not new to cdma? It just makes no since that it almost has no cdma id but all gsm? Can anyone explain why Motorola would even consider adding this info?

Probably because the underlying os (Android) is used on many different types of networks. Not just Verizon.

Motorola has nothing to do with it, Android has been and still is mainly on GSM phones.
