Why does ESPN'S fantasy app now have ads?

I paid for my ESPN fantasy football app. Why am I now getting ads?

I would think that the $5 price on the app would take care of the funding.

To sneakily slip in ads in a paid app after the fact is pretty rotten.

So ESPN charged $5 for the app, waited until they built up their customer base, and then put ads into the app disguised as a "bug fix". They weren't even upfront about it. That's a pretty rotten thing to do.

I sent them some feedback through the app and this is the response I got. It sounds like an automatic reply...

Ads in a paid app is wrong, especially when you disguise it as a "bug fix". You need to refund everyone or remove the ads.

I just have my fantasy team set as a bookmark and it works great. No need to pay $5 for the app imo.
