Support Why does Google only sometimes allow song recognition via native audio vs. mic?

    Sometimes the little music note icon appears in the voice commands area but sometimes not. If I have internet radio playing on my device through my headphones, sometimes Google will allow identification of that song, but other times it turns off the headphone audio and listens for sounds via my microphone (also part of my headphone set)? Very confusing and I cannot find a setting to force recognition only through my device directly. I typically don't care which song is playing on the radio outside, but am interested in the name of the song playing on my actual phone (for example a song in a DJ set / mix that has no tracklist included).
