Why does my browser brightness keep getting reset to dim?

I set it to Bright, but it keeps changing back to dim on occasion. I've yet to figure out when or why.

Anyone else having this problem or know the answer to getting it to stay the way I set it?

Same thing here Kenny. It's been driving me nuts. I know it does it when on "power saving" but it seems to happen when not also. Maybe once you use "power saving" it defaults until we change back to bright again? IDK but it is driving me nuts.

Under the settings for the phone, do you have Power Saving turned on?

Yes it is on. But are you implying that I have to COMPLETELY disable power saving in order to change this one independent setting in the browser? And if that's it, why is it so RANDOM when it changes back?

I see under the power-saving sub-menu you can enable/disable screen and colors. I'm going to try with "colors" disabled (e.g. no power saving mode) and see if that makes a difference.

The thing that bugs me is the randomness of it. Sometimes it goes days and no change and then sometimes it's multiple times in one day.

Fixing stuff is not easy
Do you have auto-brightness on? If so, do you turn the phone to be in landscape mode when you do that and hold both sides of the phone when you read a page?

I know I do, and sometimes I accidentally cover up the light sensor that is by the ear piece, which makes the phone think it's dark and auto-brightness dims the screen. I usually do this when browsing the web. Maybe this is what you're doing, too?

No. That's what I change in the Browser Brightness&Colors settings.

Even in the main settings I have the brightness set to max (i.e. auto brightness is disabled)

I have the same issue. I just did a factory reset to fix that and a few other strange issues and so far so good!

Still would like to know what the reason is though

I tested this as well, even with power saving mode off and brightness to full it dims when using the default browser. I have a fix though use Chrome or Firefox :D

I never use stock browsers after dolphin hooked me. It's been the smoothest one I've used to date, and the user agent spoofing works flawlessly.

Looks like disabling power-saving for "colors" stops this dimming in the browser from happening.

:D

Nestafaria called it. I was frustrated by clicking on a link in emails that took me to my browser... at which point the flamin' screen would dim. Followed "Nesti's" recommendation, and I'm a happy camper now!
