Is there a reason i can play the flash videos on BBC News - Home on my Nexus 5 just fine, but on my Nexus 7 get the "this content is not supported. Please update your flash player" message?

Are you using the same browser on both?
I think(?) On kitkat you have to use a modded version of Flash with Dolphin browser

I'm assuming that my Nexus 5 is playing it as flash.

If not it raises the question of why one device is served the video, and my N7 isn't.

It also plays on an S3 and Moto G I have access too. Just not my tablet :(

Can anyone tell me if their stock chrome without any flash player sees video content on the BBC news site in post #1?

If I long press on the other devices I can download an MP4 version.

So I'm assuming it's a device detection issue their end?

Chrome doesn't support flash, the video it plays will be HTML5

Sounds like their website is having issues

The answer is that when you go to news/bbc.co.uk on a phone it redirects to m.bbc.co.uk/news (the mobile site) and delivers video as streamed MP4.

Enter the same url on a the tablet it redirects to the desktop site www. bbc.co.uk/news which delivers video as flash.

Confirmed on my Nexus 4 (works) and Nexus 7 (doesn't work).

No idea, but videos now play in MP4 format. I haven't changed anything.
