Why does my S& not give voice turn by turn directions in Google Maps

Why is my wife getting no voice turn by turn directions in Google Maps when sound is fine for everything else? My wife's S7 refuses to speak to her when she tries to get hands free turn by turn directions. I had the same phone and mine worked fine so I matched every setting I could think of to my phone and still no voice to talk to her.

Make sure the media volume is all the way up and that maps voice is not muted. After pressing on start trip, there will be a speaker icon in the top right. Press on it and make sure it's not muted
