Ever since getting froyo, WiFi demolished my battery. Total opposite of 2.1. If I leave WiFi off I will get at least 1.5 days of battery life with moderate use, but with WiFi on and connected I am lucky to get 12 hours even with very light use. Anyone else seeing this?

I noticed the same the other day when using WiFi. Totally anecdotal experience and unsupported by hard evidence, but I was very surprised. The indication for me was that my battery left dead time cut a few hours off of the duration with WiFi on and my normal sync pattern when I left it on while at home. Turning off WiFi moved the dead time closer to where it was before.

Could it be that a constant WiFi connection uses more juice than occasional 3G burst when you have your apps/widgets syncing hourly or less?

I guess the constant connection part makes sense, but it never worked that way before 2.2.
